Advanced Concealed Carry & Tactics Range Lab

If you plan on carrying a concealed handgun, this is the next level course you should take as you will learn how to safely draw and fire your concealed handgun for self-defense. Some of the exercises you will do at the range are:
- Concealed carry safety
- Avoiding confrontations & responding to an attack
- Mastering the 5-step draw
- Presenting (drawing) & shooting the pistol from concealment
- Moving off the “X”
- Moving to cover & shooting while moving
- Shooting from cover
- Strong & weak handed shooting
- Engaging multiple targets
- Tactical & speed reloads
- Reloading while moving
This is what you will need for the range:
- Your own handgun (.380 caliber or larger that you have shot at least 50 rounds in within 30 days prior to the course
- 200 Rounds of Factory Ammunition
- At least 2 magazines (semi-autos) or 2 speed loaders (revolvers) and belt pouches / carriers for them (pocket carry will work if necessary).
- Strong side (Outside the waistband) hip holster (think Kydex) with covered trigger guard as you will be doing a lot of drawing & re-holstering. (What Not To Bring: fanny packs, shoulder holsters, appendix holsters, small-of-the-back (SOB) holsters, Blackhawk Sherpa holsters or soft, collapsible inside-the-pants holsters.)
- Brimmed Hat (Baseball Hats Work Fine)
- You will need a light or medium weight jacket, vest, outer shirt, etc. that covers your firearm (unzipped / unbuttoned when you are actually shooting) should work well.
- Eye & Ear Protection
- 5 or 6 Snap Caps for your handgun (available at Northern Security, Sportsman’s Warehouse or Cabela’s)
PREREQUISITES/ ELIGIBILITY
Having your Concealed Carry Permit is helpful but not a requirement. Basically, you need to be proficient with your handgun as this is not a beginner’s course.
