Alaska Concealed Handgun Permit Course

NOTE:  This course is now included as a $25 Option when taking the NRA Personal Protection in the Home Course if desired.

The state of Alaska requires a 12 hour course for the handgun permit and requires certain topics be included in the course, but does not provide a lesson plan. Therefore, instructors must develop detailed lesson plans from scratch to be then approved by the state or use already developed & approved lesson plans such as the NRA Personal Protection in the Home Course with any additional state requirements added.

Course participants will receive the NRA course materials for the Personal Protection in the Home course and a separate binder of more “concealed carry unique” information required for the AK Concealed Handgun Permit Course option. Students who successfully complete both courses will receive the NRA Personal Protection in the Home Course completion certificate and the AK Concealed Handgun Permit Course completion certificate.
